There is a fixed version of this game located in the first post of the thread on f95zone that null_nnz3r0 linked to. So you don't have to have to swap any of the files like that.

To fix the bandit boss diary bug in the game of the main page... I took the "sharedassets11.assets" file from the MTL version from NightofRevenge 1.07\NightofRevenge_Data took the MTL from here https://f95zone.to/threads/night-of-revenge-v1-0-7-d-lis.52284/post-9338534 and replace it in the new OP version in the same location and finally start a new game and it kindna fix the bug in the Bandit boss diary if you have a save with the boss already defeated the event after the diary that is next to the boxes will not be triggered, so you need to start a new game of it to work, at less that did it for me... didn't play more so I don't know if there are more bug after that...

After the first boss, there is speck of light that can be examined but the game soft-locks after this. It also seems like the first level can't be completed, which might be related.

You press space to leave the menu, if you still can't then try just clicking on anything that looks clickable while spamming space, that's how you get out like 90% of the time lol, as for leaving you use the altar shrine thing to teleport to an area (like the campfire in dark souls)

Don't know if it's just an issue with my version of the game, or the game in general, but you can't leave a menu screen once it's open. I've tried esc, I've tried the dedicated menu button, tab, right-click, everything I can think of; open a menu screen and you're bloody stuck forever it seems. I also can't figure out how to leave the starting area on a new game, but that's likely just because I can't read what I assume to be Japanese, so that's more a me issue than anything else.
